Clear moonlight flitted through the trees as wind licked the grass in different directions. "Why are we here?" asked an usually spotted she cat, her golden fur shining silver in the clearing. "I don't know, Firestar has asked all of us to meet here." a light brown tabby replied through his twisted jaw. "Haven't you noticed that the only cats he asked to meet were once leaders of their clans? This must be something important." a blue furred she-cat willed. "Well he'd better have good reason if he called us to join this meeting." A ginger tom with white paws exclaimed. He stood off away from the main group with 3 other cats, but spoke loud enough for all ears to hear. The clearing began to get crowded and loud with all of the questions being asked.
It wasn't for sometime that the flame colored tom himself came to address the meeting, a dark battle scarred she cat followed him in his footsteps. Firestar moved to the center of the gathered cats. Before he had a chance to speak a black she-cat leaped to her feet "Why is it you have every leader you could manage to get here including us? What is so important that you had to summon us?" she snarled at the end of her inquiry. "I apologize Shadow, this is for all leaders to hear." Firestar dipped his head respectfully. Before she could reply he began, "Leaders of all clans, I have been told a new prophecy, and the origins of this prophecy are unknown." He took a look at the dark grey she-cat and she nodded reassurance. Firestar took in a deep breath "I was told 'A puddle soon dries after the rains of destruction. Then and only then can eight restore four and the reign of light will break the ice'." A quiet set over the clearing and no cat spoke for sometime, surely trying to interpret the words they had heard. "How do we know this is a prophecy that applies to our cats, if you have no idea who sent you it?" the ginger tom that spoke earlier asked. Firestar didn't show the unease in his eyes as he spoke, "Thunder, I am just as weary as you are to this new prophecy, but I am sure it applies to us and our clans. It felt like it came from something close to me. I have contemplated telling this prophecy for about a moon now. It sounds too threatening to ignore, and I needed to share it with everyone to get a second opinion." He finished and Thunder seemed to stare into the eyes of Firestar for some time. Thunder said nothing and padded back to the three cats. Bluestar came forward "I think we need to trust it." she supported, "There is no way to know where or how this prophecy came about, but we shouldn't ignore it in the case it applies to the clans, what affects the clans will affect us too." She addressed to the clearing. Firestar nodded his head to his old leader. "But what can it mean?" the dark tabby tom, Raggedstar spoke. "Eight will become four? Light will break the ice? None of it seems to correlate." His question raised several agreeing mews from around the circle.
"Maybe it is referring to eight cats?" a voice spoke out over the rising chatter. "There are four clans." another voice exclaimed. The clearing was becoming loud and confused. "Silence!" A silver grey tom spoke out, "What ever it is, I believe we should all be on alert, and perhaps a cat from each of their own old clans should visit the current leader and make them aware of this prophecy?" the cat concluded, this seemed to make sense to the past leaders. "Since when are you ever interested in the well-being of the other clans rather than your own River?" Shadow questioned her friend. The tom returned her question with a fiery green gaze, "There have been too many times when the warrior code and the fate of the clans have been jeopardized, that would mean that what we have done and created will have been all for nothing." he replied, "These prophecies come from places we know, and for this one to come out of no where is something to be accounted for." Firestar nodded his agreement to River, "Thank you, I believe than one leader from their respective clan should tell the current leaders and the medicine cats. It is only fair since I consulted Yellowfang first about this prophecy." Yellowfang nodded and spoke, "Yes the medicine cats as well, they are just as good at interpreting signs. We still need to find out where this prophecy came from." Mews of agreement sounded around the clearing before Firestar spoke "It's settled then, I would like to warn Thunderclan if that is alright with you," He looked at Bluestar, Sunstar, Thunder as well as the other past Thunderclan leaders, who seemed to all agree with Firestar's wish, he nodded in return, "Who shall represent Shadowclan, Riverclan and Windclan?" Not even a moment after the question was asked Raggedstar padded forward and spoke "I will represent Shadowclan if there are no objections?" With no objections, he nodded and took a few paw steps backward and sat down again. "I would like to represent Riverclan" A shocked silence greeted the words as River padded forward. Firestar gave River a long determined look and nodded as no objections were given to the first leader of Riverclan. "And I shall lead Windclan if it is permitted." Tallstar stepped forward. No objections were given to the request. Firestar tipped his nose up, "It's settled then, I will address Thunderclan, Raggedstar will adress Shadowclan, River will adress Riverclan and Tallstar will adress Windclan. Is this acceptable among all the cats here?" Mews of approval sounded around the clearing. "Then we will address the Leaders on the same night as the half moon, so we may share this knowledge with the medicine cats at the same time." The meeting started to break up and cats began to wander away from the soft moonlit clearing. Yellowfang padded up to Firestar, "I hope we can figure this one out, it has never seemed this hopeless before, not even when we had troubles with the dark forest." Firestar sighed, "I know, but I also know that we can get through this like we have in the past. We just need to figure out what it means."
In this plot we will audition for the 8 cats, these cats are met by a cat not of Starclan and are told the prophecy. They are to work together in finding out what the prophecy means and restoring the chaos of the four clans. The river seems to be drying up and filling back up again at the will of twolegs, who have turned the lake into a water reservoir for new twoleg homes around the lake. Also, I will need to audition for a main protagonist with "light" somewhere in the name and an antagonist with "frost, snow or ice" in the name. Little pieces of the plot will be put together to make for the master plot.
